Why hold on to the past? What we had is gone. Yet it still lingers in our hearts. Your memory has consumed my soul. We had no concrete demise, Just a drifting apart. Each of us waiting for the other, Neither wanting to be the first. Inflated egos telling us we were strong. Life would go on, We could survive. So here we are today, But what of tomorrow? © Jim Bullen 1988 |
